Fig. 5 of The Southwark Old Kent Road Area Action Plan: The Masterplan
The basis for our development stems from current London-wide planning objectives and emerging local planning policy in Southwark as well as the intended infrastructure improvements which are all aimed at stimulating the regeneration of the Old Kent Road and providing much-needed homes and jobs in London.
In line with planning policy we have an opportunity to bring forward a high-quality mixed use development which can not only provide much needed homes and jobs, but which can also significantly improve the area for those already living and working there.
With the continuing regeneration of neighbouring areas such as the Elephant and Castle, Peckham and Bermondsey, the Old Kent Road is now being prioritised, through the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan, with the London Borough of Southwark targeting the delivery of at least 20,000 new homes and 10,000 new jobs in the area over the next 10-15 years.
The prospects for improved transport links to the area are also promising. Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that its preferred route for a Bakerloo Line extension (BLE) would see the line terminating at Lewisham with three new stops provided along the Old Kent Road.
